Miss Megan began her dance education at the age of 7 at La Maison de La Danse in Laurel, MD. Under the guidance and instruction of Veronica Mack, Dawn Macey-Boyette, and Michele Land she quickly learned dance was going to be an integral part of her life. Her love of dance blossomed throughout her performance opportunities both on the La Maison de la Danse Performing Company and Competition Team. During her competition years, she received several regionally and nationally ranked high score awards, special judge's awards, and scholarship opportunities, including several summer intensives with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland (formerly the Ballet Theatre of Annapolis). Her training at La Maison de la Danse, coupled with extensive master classes and workshops, has allowed her to become proficient in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Pointe, and Lyrical. She began assisting at the age of 12 and quickly progressed to both teaching and choreographing.
In 2008, she played an integral role in opening Stars Studio, working as the office manager, teacher, as well as competition team coach, receiveing regional and national recognition for her choreography. In 2009, she led Stars Studio's TEAM USA to Reisa, Germany to compete in the IDO World Show Dance Championships. TEAM USA clenched the silver medal in the large production category for Miss Megan's choreography of "How I Beat Shaq", and her rendition of "Opposites Attract" featuring our very own "Miss Hannah" came in 8th out of 47 fierce international duets.
In order to complete her Accounting degree, Miss Megan passed the competition team baton to the absolutely amazing team choreographers currently, but continues to teach throughout the week. When not teaching or ensuring the Stars Studio office is running smoothly, she is the Administrative Traffice Manager for Vane Line Bunkering in Baltimore, MD. Her joy of dance is evident in all of her classes and she is a valuable asset to our front office staff.
